RECENT EVENT: Effective Outreach through Sports Evangelism by GOSAF/KIE and GBU/KIE

One of the greatest problems the church is facing in the 21st century is the lack of interest among secular people to listen to the gospel message. 95% of them do not visit a church of their own volition. When Christians try to visit them in their houses, they encounter a cold reception. The loss of Christendom in Universities and Institutions of Education like KIGALI INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION is undeniable. This indirect approach built a foundation for building relationships with non-Christians.

One way to influence people around us is through sports. Many people either play sports or love to watch them. Christians IN GOOD SAMARITAN FAMILY (GOSAF/KIE) or GBU/KIE joined them in a non-threatening way and established healthier relationships with them. An invitation to attend a church service may go unheeded, but an offer to play sports will be joyfully accepted. Strangers will speak the same language. They also engaged in an activity that is good for their physical and emotional wellness. Before long they are not strangers, but friends. The sport they love will provide a common ground that will facilitate opportunities that did not even exist before. GOD bless every one who showed an interest for the achievement of this special event.

Every one is entering in season of active mission as fellow soldiers of Christ’s Kingdom. Thank you a lot for your commitment, zeal you showed during the year of 2010 in GOSAF. We are journeying again towards DOING LIKEWISE. Some may faint, but God will use every single occasion to raise them. Others will work hard, and the devil will be ashamed. St Paul wrote: “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” 1Timothy 6:12
